After last years 20th birthday celebration, Magpie Cooperative is turning the Magpie Eco Festival in to a free annual, family friendly, community event. In addition to the outdoor Park Stage, this year will also feature Shabitat Indoor Acoustic Stage and the “Crusty Disco”- their converted recycling milk float, will once again be providing a platform where you can be a DJ for 30 minutes.

Live Music from; King Porter Stomp, Candela, Funge, Triple Chicken Combo, Mauve People, Rat Bag, Wolf Like Child, Bag Of Hammers, Lucy and The Scamps, Skulking Loafers, The Spoken Herd, Rondo Mundo, The Nelly Canes and Samba band Barulho.

Talks and Workshops will run throughout the afternoon from the likes of Duncan Baker Brown, owner of BBM Sustainable Design and Lecturer at the School of Architecture and Design, University of Brighton.

Also “freeman” Kent Bengtson will tell you all about how to liberate yourself from the shackles of society.

Sustainable crafts stalls from some of the best makers and eco-creators in Brighton as well as environmental campaigns information, T-shirt screen-printing from local artist MNKY , Vinyl spin and painting from ZeeZee and recycled craft workshops for the young ones from MANI

Local Ale, Ciders and Food from, amongst others, Magpie PiesSultan’s Delights and Pizza Wagon plus lots of homemade tea and cakes and the healthy smoothie bike of course.

Alternative Therapies will be available to help you relax into the day with some Reflexology, or why not try Shiatsu.

For young and old Zaz the Clown entertains the whole family and why not have a go at Roller Skating, hula hooping, or practice your juggling with the Circus Skills Team. Gladrags will be providing costumes too.
