What is the Queen’s Jubilee?
This year’s Diamond Jubilee marks 60 years of The Queen’s reign on the throne.
The Jubilee bank holiday take place on Monday June 4 and Tuesday June 5.
The majority of Jubilee celebration will take place over the weekend of June 2-5 2012.
Venue: Unitarian Church
The Makers Boutique is Brightons best regular Art & Craft Fair, showcasing contemporary Arts and Crafts by Designers and Makers in and around the Brighton area.
Over 30 stalls at each event, credit card facilities and a fabulous cafe run by Purple Sprouting Eating Company, selling vegetarian and vegan food and scrummy cake.
The garden will reopen from 1st June until 7th September for for private visits by individuals or groups, 20 max, the perfectly unique place for a birthday or anniversary treat with canapes and a drink, price available on request. Otherwise entry will be £5 per person inclusive of tea/coffee and a cake, with all proceeds to Macmillan Cancer Support.
Today there is a special opening by appointment only, raising money for Macmillan Cancer Support. Entry £5 inclusive of tea and cup cake. Home grown plant sales and garden decorations will be available as well. Call 01323 899296 to arrange.

The first weekend in June is gonna be a bumper Bank holiday weekend and the fabulous customers & neighbours of the Signalman Pub (76-78 Ditchling Rise) have organised a street party to Celebrate the Queens Jubilee on 4th June Bank Hoilday Monday.

Over the Queen’s Jubilee (1st -5th June) The Victory Inn will be celebrating by offering the finest Real Ciders and Cheese Sussex has to offer.
They will be having DJ’s and musical acts playing for your listening pleasure over the weekend, as well as the usual great atmosphere and wonderfully kept Real Ales.

Feeling gorgeous and fabulous regal for the Diamond Jubilee? They will rewarding all patriotic folk with Free Entry if you arrive in a charming ball gown or spiffing tux even a bit of head gear – top hats and like.. So get outfit planning and join the gorgeous people at Havana Spoon. 2 x 1 selected cocktails until 10pm.

Brighton Fashion Week returns for 2012 at the end of May, with the final events on Friday, Saturday and Sunday of the Diamond Jubilee weekend. Shows will be put on in various locations across Brighton, including a closing party at The Mesmerist on Sunday 3 June.
Venue: Brighton Museum
Celebrate the Diamond Jubilee by taking a walk back in time to the fabulous fifties, when the Queen first came to the throne. Learn to jive, take part in traditional arts and crafts, see some original memorabilia, or even get a retro makeover! Come dressed in your favourite fifties outfit.
Price: Free, drop-in.
Venue: Hove Library
Find the 6 crown jewels hidden in the Children’s Library then collect and decorate a bookmark.
Price: Free event for children of all ages.
Venue: Preston Park
Bring your own picnic and enjoy each other’s company.
There will be music from a brass band provided by members from the Patcham Silver Band and the Mid Sussex Brass Band. A bouncy slide, fun and games from Spots and Stripes and free face-painting will entertain the children.
A prize will be awarded to the best adult and the best children’s crown.

Experiment with colour combinations and application techniques in their hands-on painting workshop in the Art Room at Brighton Museum. Times: 10.30am-12.30pm & 1.30-3.30pm
Two days of celebrating awesome local design talent. 33 stalls of amazing handmade treasures.
Free creative workshop. Learn to crochet, knit, embroider and make beaded jewellery. And enjoy delicious homemade food and drink!
Venue: Ancient Mariner
Come and join their celebrations for the Queens jubilee, they will be having the Ancient Mariner’s first ever street party!! To get you in the dancing mood there will be live music all day from 1pm until 11pm. A lovely BBQ and full bar menu to tantalise your taste buds. Back through popular demand they will have their cider bar (All ciders from middle farm) and also an ale bar with tasting sessions!!
They also have a kids’ corner open until 7.30pm with face painting, and arts and crafts.
