Brighton Digital FestivalThe annual celebration of digital culture is now in full swing with events across the City and lots of them are free! This weekend’s highlight has to be the Mini Maker Faire at Brighton Dome all weekend, a great family festival of creativity and invention.

Brighton and Hove Food and Drink Festival – This weekend holds some great events including the most popular event of the festival – the Big Sussex Market at Jubilee Square with over 80 growers, producers and restauranteurs.

Making Tracks Exhibition – A collaboration with the Sussex Wildlife Trust, at ONCA Gallery, highlights the importance of animal pathways. It features over forty artists, animals and trackers exploring pathways and journeys within our landscape. The exhibition and associated events raise funds for the ONCA Trust and the Sussex Wildlife Trust Youth Rangers.



Cassette Store Day – The lo-fi younger sibling of Record Store Day (where musicians release limited edition records). Cassette Store day taking place at Cult Hero and Resident in Brighton will be providing customers with the chance to buy limited edition cassettes by some of their favorite artists including the flaming lips, efterklang, pulled apart by horses and Haim and many more!

Brighton Craft Alliance – A curated arts, craft and vintage fair, at Komedia, showcasing the brightest talents in contemporary art/craft/design and vintage purveyors with an eclectic range of products to suit all tastes. Held monthly in locations in and around Brighton.

Rottingdean Village Hall Vintage and Craft Fair – A great craft fair selling craft items, cards, glass ware, antiques, retro jewellery and collectables, charity stalls, workshops in patchwork and crochet and tea, coffee and cake! A great event to encourage local Artists and crafty people to exhibit and sell their own work.

Global Beats Presents: Lonnie Liston Smith – With a career spanning 40 years, one of contemporary music’s most versatile musicians comes to Concorde 2. Renowned for defying genres, blending atmospheric fusion, soul and funk and often quoted as a strong influence on acid jazz. In more recent times he has created hits with Mary J. Blige and Jay-Z.

Love presents: Mad Tech Records with PBR Streetgang and No Artificial Colours – A night of DJ delights at Coalition from Kerri Chandler and a bountiful source of emerging artists each with their own individual sound, an experimental platform for new talent, mentored and guided by Kerri himself.



London to Brighton Bike Ride – A fundraising challenge over 54 miles starting in London and finishing on the Brighton sea front. So get down to the finish line to cheer everyone on and be amongst the action!

The Silent Movie Experience – Following his sell-out West End show in 2012 and his continued success at the Brighton Fringe 2013, David Watts Professor of Silent Movie Ethno Musicology (SMEMY) presents more silent movie mayhem. With live music and sound effects, he also invites his audience to participate in this chaotic and unpredictable show!

Krater Comedy Club – Komedia’s award winning weekly stand up showcase. Eat, drink, watch and laugh as 3 top stand-ups and one of the best MCs on the comedy circuit entertain you. This week Paul Myrehaug, Jeff Leach, The Noise Next Door with MC Stephen Grant.

Green Door Blues – Special live Blues artists every week, plus resident band Smokestack and The BIG ITCH DJs will be on hand with a selection of gritty foot stomping blues vinyl to aid your Sunday night drinking & dancing.
