What a mixed bag we have for you this Weekend! Get out there and experience some of the weird and wonderful events on offer across Brighton with science, exhibitions, twisted markets, model celebrations, day long music fests, celebrations of cycling, comedy, club nights and gigs.

All Weekend:

Stories from the Front Line – Four fantastic comic artists present four Stories, in light boxes in Jubilee Square, from the front line of medical practice in Brighton. Four patients and four doctors shared their stories, giving their own accounts of true events that are moving, revealing, honest and challenging.

Brighton Science Festival – This annual festival of fun is back to liven up your February, with a wide range of weird and wonderful exhibitions, talks, workshops and much more all across Sussex. Prices vary but many events are FREE! Here are some of our top picks from the festival.

Fanfare – Ink_d Gallery’s first show of 2014 welcomes back some of their regular artists including Pure Evil as well as introducing some new faces in the form of John Simpson, Miss Bugs, Carne Griffiths and Carrie Reichardt.

Brighton ModelWorld – An annual celebration at the Brighton Centre for modelling hobbies of all types, a great day out for enthusiasts and families alike with everything from model cars, trains, boats, planes, dolls houses and fairgrounds to name but a few it also benefits from a selection of trade stands offering something for all.


The Spin – Brighton’s first ‘Love Your Bike Week’ runs from Tuesday 18th, culminating in The Spin, an amazing free event featuring stunt riders, award winning performance artists, bike workshops, Dr Bike, the chance to tackle a bike assault course, great food stalls and more in the old market building in Circus Street.

Reeks of effort, Be Nothing and You Trip Me Up present : WORMS – a whole day of ridiculously good bands at the GREEN DOOR STORE! Edgeworld Records will also have a pop up stall all day and there will be comics for sale and loads of other great stuff going on throughout the day.

Krater Comedy Club – Award winning comedy every Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Eat, drink, watch and laugh as 3 top stand-ups and one of the best MCs on the comedy circuit entertain you. Read our recent review HERE.

Pump Up the Jam – Do you look back with love to the days of 90’s cool? It’s time to bring the dance back to the rave. Bringing the 90′s hot steppin’ party action like no other Pump up the Jam at Coalition is Brighton’s one & only night totally dedicated to 90′s House, Dance, Pop and Hip Hop. BUY TICKETS HERE.

Good Pop,Bad Pop –  What is pop music you may ask… well it’s music that is popular right? Sometimes bad pop can be the best. You know what we mean. All the songs you’d forgotten you loved. All the songs you can sing the wrong words to. Three minute nougats of joy and pain. YOU GOT IT!!!


Sunday Circus 1st Birthday! – Celebrating a year of talks, music and fun at Emporium, more talks, music and fun! With a splendid line-up with Poet Rosy Carrick, Musician Tom Eldon and Comedian Tom Craine.

Brighton Twisted Market – Enter the depths of Latest Music Bar and immerse yourself in a different world, with market stalls all day then cabaret and human snail racing!

Communion: New Faces Tour – Communion is very proud to present its inaugural ‘New Faces’ Tour at The Haunt. Following on from the influential New Faces compilation album and the New Faces EP series with XFM, the New Faces tour features four of 2014′s most hotly tipped new artists – Luke Sital Singh, Eliza and The Bear,Farewell JR and Annie Eve.

SJM Concerts Presents: Sam Smith – One of the biggest breakout artists to emerge in the past 12 months, Sam Smith has won over fans and critics alike. Sam first emerged on the scene featuring on Disclosure’s hit single ‘Latch’, he went on work with Naughty Boy on one of the biggest selling singles of the year ‘La La La’ which to date has amassed over 100 million views online.
