One lucky winner will win two tickets to the value of £60 for Brighton’s biggest ever TEDx event that takes place at the Brighton Dome Concert Hall on Friday 31 October

BPeter Jamesestselling crime author Peter James is confirmed to speak at TEDxBrighton 2014 about his endearing Brighton-based character Detective Superintendent Roy Grace. The title of this year’s event is Many Hands, and will explore ideas around connectivity, convergence and community. Karl Mattingly is the second confirmed speaker. Founder of slowXchange, a London-based internet platform that crowdsources forecasts on financial performance, Karl will tap into the TEDx attendees group mind in order to forecast the future of Brighton.

In the spirit of ‘ideas worth spreading’, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event.

Sam Orams, producer for TEDxBrighton, said: “The day is shaping up to be the biggest and most innovative TEDxBrighton ever. I’m particularly excited about Peter James coming to the event with his unusual perspective on the local community, and Karl Mattingly will reveal some very strange truths indeed!”
