The Great Eastern
Published On July 20, 2015 | Pubs
The Great Eastern is a traditional pub with a twist that hasn’t changed much since it opened 150 years ago – think low ceilings, battered floorboards, book-lined shelves & drinkers perched on tiny wooden stools. It’s an atmospheric place, especially at night when the tall candles spread a warm glow over proceedings.
With around 70 American Whiskies it was voted Best Spirit pub in the country in 2008. They also serve food all week plus roasts on Sundays and entertainment includes regular live bands.
