A Very Vintage Home : The Autumn Article

Published On October 12, 2015 | By Rachelle | Brighton Style

Every month Rachelle from Popsicle Interiors will be out and about trawling through the vintage furniture Brighton stores to find the most stylish, unique and iconic pieces for your home.

I’m not ashamed to say I pushed the boundaries of Brighton this month and went for a lovely autumnal walk around the vintage shops on the very outskirts of the city, I even crossed the line in to Hove, Actually!

Yes, that’s right, I did say autumnal walk; we have to admit to ourselves we are in autumn now and embrace this by purchasing some colourful vintage pieces for our home – just to warm it up a bit of course!

Be ready to ‘fall backwards’ on October 25th with a new clock. Available from just £25, one of these will not only keep you on track with the time they will also look amazing in any home.

In the darker evenings that will follow the time change, keep your home lit with one or two of these industrial green lights, well priced too at just £50 each. The striking black ones in the photo are also for sale at a bit more of a pricier sum of £195.

It is all about injecting colour this autumn and the teal 1950s sideboard I found will do just that. Whether you have a neutral backdrop or a bit more of an eclectic colour scheme this piece will look perfect and after checking the price tag, I’m pleased to say it has been reduced to just £100.

In need of new china for hosting some tea parties this autumn? This beautiful ‘leafy’ red, gold and green 1930’s tea set, priced at a reasonable £35, will be perfect.

The star buy this month for me though had to be this cot I found in the basement of Department. Any autumnal baby vintage lover would be perfectly at home in this ‘cute’ cot adorned with pictures of donkeys carting around teddy bears! A true find and a true bargain at only £58. With my second bundle of joy due in about five weeks, I might even make my way back to the shop myself this week!
