Brewery Fresh Lager Comes To Brighton

Laine’s Lager arrives at The World’s End untouched by air.

For the first time ever Brighton drinkers are being given the chance to drink lager that tastes just as good as if it was being sipped at the brewery. Two huge stainless steel tanks behind the bar at World’s End will be serving Laine’s Lager – aka LL – the first brewery fresh lager served in the City. Following from their hugely popular ales – brewed in the Laine BreweryInnBrighton’s own lager ensures that no air touches the beer until it reaches your glass, leading to the perfect pint. Even in its unpasteurised, unfiltered state, every glass of LL is exactly as the brewers want it to taste.

The result is a fantastic, craft brewed Czech-style lager bursting with flavour and weighing in at 4.5 abv. Light and refreshing, the peppery flavours from the saaz are balanced by the citrus tang. The Bavarian yeast (weihenstephn, from the Munich Brewing University) is fermented slowly at a low temperature to develop flavour while the maturation – literately ‘lager’ in German – takes three weeks in order to give a smoother, less raw character.

With tank pubs serving brewery fresh pints already common in beer-loving countries like the Netherlands and the Czech Republic, The World’s End is proud to début the latest technology to Brighton to ensure their lager drinkers get the very best pint they can.

World’s End manager Richard Hilton had this to say:

“I’m very excited, and the locals are very excited about to taste it…We’re hugely proud to bring brewery fresh lager to Brighton for the first time, especially with our very own lager,” says Simon Walker, InnBrighton operations director. “The investment in the tanks and the brewing made perfect sense as soon as we tasted Laine’s Lager at the brewery and knew our customers would get exactly the same great experience.”

The World’s End is a traditional pub that has been bringing together the local London Road community for eight years. With great food from the nationally recognised Bar-B-Q Shack, plenty of screens for showing live sporting events and frequent live music, DJs and games, it’s broad appeal is reflected in the diverse groups of people that socialise there.
