Brand new dining venue Crafty Chooks has announced a fundraising partnership with the Rockinghorse charity, the official partner of the Royal Alexandra Children’s Hospital.

The new bar and rotisserie restaurant in Second Avenue, Hove, will be holding a number of events to raise money for the charity, which also supports the Trevor Mann Baby Unit.

Kicking off a year of support for The Rockinghorse will be a VIP gala night in May. Crafty Chooks will also be donating a pound every time a charity special meal is ordered from the menu. Further fundraising events will be planned throughout the year.

Crafty Chooks’ owners, the Golden Lion Group, has invested £1/4million completely refurbishing the former Tin Drum site. Director Leo Day said:

“We’re really excited to be working with the Rockinghorse for our first year at our new restaurant. We’re a family-run business, so very-much value the incredible work carried out at the Royal Alexandra Children’s Hospital and the Trevor Mann Baby Unit. All of our venues are well-known for supporting important local charities. We’ve had a fantastic reaction to our new venue and we’re hoping our customers will help us really make a difference to Rockinghorse funds this year.”

The charity is thrilled with the support. Head of Fundraising, Analiese Doctrove, said:

“Rockinghorse is delighted to be part of this exciting new restaurant in Hove – we would like to say a huge thank you to everyone at Crafty Chooks and their customers for choosing to support us. They will help us to continue to make a real difference at both the Royal Alexandra Children’s Hospital and the Trevor Mann Baby Unit.”

Crafty Chooks opened just before Easter with a state-of-the-art rotisserie serving free-range chicken, alongside a carefully-chosen Craft Beer selection.

Launch Party

Last night (15th May) more than 50 guests raised money with a prize draw and by bidding for a top of the range cut and colour at leading salon Trevor Sorbie, while sampling mini dishes from Crafty Chooks’ menu and tasting its wine and craft beer selection.

Leo Day, Director at Crafty Chooks’ owner, the Golden Lion Group, said:

“We’ve been really busy since we opened just before Easter and have had some great feedback about the new venue.
“We’re a family-run business, so can’t speak highly enough of the incredible work carried out at The Alex and the Trevor Mann Baby Unit. We’re pleased our guests joined our support for Rockinghorse last night and we hope our customers will help us really make a difference to their funds this year.”

Rockinghorse Head of Fundraising, Analiese Doctrove, told guests about the work of the charity and thanked the owners for pledging their support. She said:

“We’re thrilled that Crafty Chooks and their customers are supporting us in this way.”
