We Love Brighton in partnership with Tabl.com bring you a monthly round-up of the best pop up restaurants Brighton has to offer!
This May we have a myriad of pop ups happening throughout Brighton and it’s surroundings as both our seasoned chefs as well as several new comers put on a variety of events to keep us off the streets and out of trouble as we head into the summer! Read on for our top three picks for the month.
Sven Hanson Britt @ Café Rust
We’re all riding high from the finale of Masterchef last week and what a worthy winner it was. A much closer call was in 2014 on Masterchef: the Professionals when Sven Hanson-Britt of The Ritz was just pipped to the post by a sous-chef from Arbroath.
That didn’t stop Sven though and he’s been riding high ever since. Currently he’s running a sell-out series of pop-ups at the gorgeous Café Rust in our fair city of Brighton!
These are serious hot-tickets – Sven and his team are delivering stunning seasonal menus with a few surprises along the way. Get in quick for your chance to savour the world-class cooking we all love to salivate over on the telly, with a perfect pop-up price tag!
Location: Café Rust, Brighton
Date and Time: Friday the 8th of May & Saturday the 9th of May (With more dates to be announced)

The Plate Escape
If you’ve just spilled out of an underground sweatbox after watching the latest up-and-coming electro-indie noiseniks, you might be looking for some much needed sustenance before you join the massive queue to squeeze in and catch the end of the set from the hottest neo-grime collective out of Lewisham.
Or you could just be watching the gig-goers stumbling around town and fancy stopping for a civilised bite…
Either way, the smart folk at Yolk realised that The Great Escape attracts people with great taste, and those people need to be fed great food!
So, welcome to The Plate Escape – a communal dining event celebrating great British food and great British style! Cunningly timed to avoid clashing with the top sets of the festy and right en-route between the key venues is a top quality 3-course pop-up meal designed to fit in with your plans.
So it doesn’t have to be a rush job dirty burger between shows – you can dine decadently with seasonal crudités in their own dipping baths, handmade sharing pies of braised ox cheek and homemade salted caramel and buttermilk ice-creams you can even take away with you to enjoy while you queue.
Plus it won’t cut into any precious drinking-time as there’s half a bottle of wine (or beers) included in the price! All-in-all absolutely stonking value for 25 quid.

Tea & Cheese Tasting
Following sell-out London events, the taste revolution that is Tea & Cheese comes to Brighton and Hove! Join us at La Cave a Fromage for an evening that will delight your taste buds! Oh and you’ll learn things you never knew about Tea & Cheese as well.
We’ve all had Cheese and Wine, maybe even Cheese and Beer… but Tea? Really? Well, yes, really! As Emily from Curious London put it “Tea and Cheese might well be the world’s best kept secret love story“. It really is that good! The Tea cleanses and refreshes the palate whilst intensifying the flavours and sensation of the cheese in the mouth.
During the evening you will be guided through 6 carefully selected Teas paired with 6 carefully selected Cheese by Kyle, founder of Whittington’s Tea Emporium and David, master of all things cheese at La Cave a Fromage. Learn how the respective Teas and Cheeses are made and what makes them so special, whilst we guide you through the amazing taste experience that is Tea & Cheese. Truly and experience not to be missed.
