Brighton’s Best DJ and Club Nights: April 2015

It’s April Ladies and Gents, that means we are nearly half way through the year! If you haven’t been making the most of 2015, here’s your chance to start. We’ve teamed up with to find out the hottest club nights to get the ball rolling.

Will SumsuchColour and Pitch SessionsMerkaba

Will Sumsuch, who has recently released Find Home feat Matty Eeles, has plenty of experience under his belt having played in countless bars, clubs and beaches across the world. His electronic dance music has resulted in discerning DJ’s finding favour in his work, including Ben Watt and Osunlade. Expect the unexpected at Merbaka as Will’s musical talent takes the forefront.

gypsyGypsy Disco Presents Feast of FoolsThe Arch

Dressing up for Feast of the Fools is compulsory so make sure you put in an effort to fit into the medieval banquet theme. ‘Crinkle Cuts’ will boom out tantric funk and smooth reggae on the night while ‘Town Of Cats’ throw up a fat slice of gyp-hop ska with lashings of latino and a side of funk. Purchase a ticket to immerse yourself in a night of the ages. Make sure to keep an eye out for the acrobats and belly dancers who, no doubt, will try steal the show from the DJ decks.

FEMMEFEMMEThe Green Door Store

Glastonbury loved her, Vouge named her ‘Artist of the Week’ in 2012 and now FEMME will be playing in The Green Door Store this April. Her singles include Educated, Heartbeat, Fever Boy and Double Trouble. Heavy electro pop is the name of her game served with an extra side of sass. Her new single S.O.S is out now and is sure to get the crowd going.

Kemp.Town.000The Kemp Town Carnival’s Botanical BallConcorde2

Embrace The Kemp Town’s Carnival Culture at Concorde2 this April for night you’ll never forget. Dance until the early hours to swing, funk, Latin and jungle beats until your head gets dizzy and your feet get sore. An explosion of colours will liven up the venue as live performers strut their stuff on the stage, whisking you away to a temporary paradise.

We.Love.KurtWe Love KurtThe Hope and Ruin

The Hope and Ruin will dedicate their bank holiday weekend to Kurt Cobain as this year marks his 21st anniversary. Cobain’s untimely death touched millions and rumours like the‘27 club’ began to fly shortly afterward; that aside, the night will play tribute to the rock star by having some great live music entertainment. You ears will be delighted to know that plenty of Nirvana tunes will be played with music that inspired the main man himself.

Something.Wicked.This.Way.ComesSomething Wicked This Way ComesThe Joker

Brighton’s only rock n’ roll circus returns to satisfy our clubbing needs after a memorable 2014 performance. Frightening attire is encouraged, think twisted circus, goth, punk and you’ll be on the right track. DJ Peter von Sleaze, who is known for his cabaret sets around Brighton, will pump out some dark and filthy rock n’ roll to keep the crowd howling for more while magic tricks, mind control and belly dancing entertain the larger crowd.

Take & Concorde2 Present SecondcityConcorde2

Chicago- born British DJ, Secondcity will own the stage at Concorde2 with fierce energy this April. His hit ‘I Wanna Feel’ rocketed to number one on the UK Singles Chart, and includes a portion of Toni Braxton’s ‘You’re Makin’ Me High’. It has over 13 million hits on Youtube and no doubt he will push the boundaries of music to produce some foot stomping, fist thumping tunes on the night.
