Ready to dance your Autumn away? Good news, there’s loads of amazing acts coming to Brighton this October with pop, rap, punk rock, DJ’s and much more. Here’s our pick of Brighton’s best club nights and live music for the month.
Peter Andre – Brighton Centre
Peter Andre has announced his first major UK tour in two years. The new tour will see Peter on stage with his band performing all of his hits including ‘Mysterious Girl’ and ‘Behind Closed Doors’ plus songs from his previous studio albums ‘Revelation’, ‘Accelerate ’ and ‘Angels and Demons’.

AEG Presents: Hopsin – Concorde 2
In 2009 American rapper Hopsin cut ties with record label Ruthless Records and founded his own record label, Funk Volume, and has since been unstoppable. Inspired by music ranging from Alicia Keys to Eminem, Hopsin’s dark lyrics are a reflection of the challenges he has had to endure to get to where he is today; dropping out of school at a young age with no money and few friends.

One Inch Badge Presents: Kim Churchill + Support – The Hope
Known for his dynamic live performances which focus on his deft guitar work while simultaneously playing bass drum, percussion, tambourine, harmonica and vocals. Australian musical nomad Kim Churchill matches his lyrical artistry with fierce vocals; he is a sonic architect, using his instruments to create landscapes to animate his lyrics. Live, he is a true virtuoso.

OFF! + Cerebral Ballzy – The Haunt
Over the past four years, OFF! have proven to be more than just a band. They also raise a series of challenging questions. After four decades of heavy use, does punk rock still have any life left in it? Do Keith Morris and his gang of grown-ass punk heroes still have the goods? They’ve answered their own questions with a resounding yes through a packed itinerary of shows and a handful of recordings that are among the rawest musical experiences of the new decade.

Audio Presents: Patent Pending – Audio
New Yorkers Patent Pending return to the UK in October for their most extensive UK headline tour yet and the release of single; ‘Hey Mario’ on Monday 6th October. The band were here in April for a tour which included a slot at Hit The Deck Festival, Kerrang Magazine said; “Patent Pending simply detonate around this stage – you’d think it was their last ever gig. Hey Mario and a cover of Andrew WK’s Party Hard get the place jumping, and a and prompt a ‘crowd surfing contest’ between band members” KKKK .

Cognitive Dissident Promotions & Art Failure Present: KEN mode + Hark + Grey Widow – Sticky Mike’s Frog Bar
KEN mode are a noisy punk rock trio hailing from Canada. Having been awarded for playing hard metal by Juno and WMCA, this should be a loud one. With support from Hark and Grey Widow. Welsh heavy rock power-trio HARK provide angular riffing, pounding rhythms and unrelentingly ferocious vocals. Grey Widow, comprised of members of Dopefight, Parole, Thread and The Ergon Carousel, bring low-end heavy grooves and riffs the size of planets!

Live Nation Presents: The Neighbourhood – Concorde 2
Formed by 5 friends in their native L.A. in August 2011, the last year has seen the band make a huge impact. Previous single Sweater Weather has now sold well in excess of 2 million copies, the band have made a succession of high profile TV appearances on Letterman, Conan, Carson Daly and Jimmy Kimmel in the US. Their recent London show was upgraded from Village Underground to the Electric Ballroom after the initial date sold out.

One Inch Badge Presents: Kishi Bashi + Beaty Heart – The Hope
Kishi Bashi is the pseudonym of singer, multi-instrumentalist, and songwriter K Ishibashi. Having collaborated and toured with indie strangelings of Montreal, Regina Spektor, and Sondre Lerche, singer, violinist, and composer, Kishi Bashi embarks on an epic orchestral solo project. His solo live show is a dazzling array of looping and vocal/violin gymnastics. With support from Beaty Heart.

Festival Republic Ltd. presents: The Antlers – The Old Market
With their much-anticipated new album Familiars just released, The Antlers will be touring extensively this Autumn. Kicking off in Brussels on the 1st October and taking in most of the bigger European cities, the UK dates begin here in Brighton & Hove on the 22nd and includes a performance at the Hackney Empire in London as part of Transgressive Records 10th Anniversary Celebrations.

Brighton Dome presents: Mogwai – Brighton Dome, Concert Hall
Over the last two decades, Mogwai have quietly cornered the market for multi-layered post-rock cool. The band’s largely instrumental works are soundscapes in the truest sense of the word: guitar-heavy, effects-laden evocations of stark grandeur and tranquil beauty. Now Mogwai brings its eighth album to life in an epic live event.

Melting Vinyl and Green Door Store Present: Haley Bonar – Green Door Store
Orginially from Rapid City SD, in the last decade Haley has released eight more recordings to critical acclaim and mounting success: lots of touring, playing festivals, capturing awards and artist grants, inventive video productions, placing song tracks on prime TV shows and popular film, appearing on myriad Best-Of lists while continuing to write and perform locally. She writes genuine, epochal and poetic tales that feel like our heartbreak, failure, frustration and joy.

Melting Vinyl presents: Real Estate + Support – Komedia
Real Estate’s catchy indie and unique shoe-gaze sound, is a triumph of highly evocative, perceptive songwriting, and graceful, precise musicianship. Their latest album Atlas (out now via Domino) carefully refines, and ultimately perfects, the brilliantly distinct artistic vision that makes the band so beloved. It is intimate and spare, precise and taut, catching glints of Nick Drake, Pavement and Neu.

Metropolis presents: Foxygen – Komedia
Foxygen are an American indie rock duo originally formed in Westlake Village, California in 2005 by Jonathan Rado and Sam France. After their formation in 2005, the band played wildly experimental music, which featured many influences from 60s; psychedelia and avant-garde. They self-released many EPs between 2007 and 2011, only a few of which are still available. In early 2011, they were ‘discovered’ by famed producer Richard Swift
