Brighton Art Fair has, for over ten years, been bringing 100 of the brightest and best contemporary visual artists from Sussex, the UK and abroad to exhibit at the beautiful and historic Brighton Dome, Corn Exchange in the heart of the City. Some have exhibited before, some are brand new to the event, but all the work is exciting, fresh and exceptional.

Brighton Art Fair is the largest annual art exhibition on the South Coast and enables artists across all media to sell their work to the public, building a relationship with buyers, potential buyers, galleries and curators. The fair selects the most talented painters, printmakers, photographers and sculptors along with artist groups and Sussex based galleries.

Brighton Art Fair 2014Artists present their original and eclectic work across as wide a variety of methods and subjects as possible. The artists themselves sell their work direct to the public, bringing a personal feel to viewing and to the buying process. Visitors enjoy meeting the artists – learning about their creative inspirations, techniques and future projects. The fair has built a very strong reputation for presenting highest quality contemporary artwork in a relaxed, informal and friendly environment.

Around 5000 visitors visit Brighton Art Fair each year and sales of artwork have been healthy for exhibiting artists. BAF also directly targets art buyers, collectors, gallery owners, arts commissioners and exhibition curators and many artists have been taken up by galleries throughout England due to contacts made at the fair. Every visitor receives a catalogue detailing the exhibitors at the fair which we hope encourages buyers to contact artists after the event to buy or commission work and establish a longer term on-going relationship.

This year the entrance lobby will feature work from photographer Alun Callender’s latest personal project – an extensive series of environmental portraits of East Sussex artists in their studios.
