Aladdin – Emporium, Brighton

From the team behind last year’s sell out Sleeping Beauty, Emporium bring you all the magic of the wonderful tale of Aladdin, with their own unique spin. Featuring ex Apollo member, now professional performer Rory Maguire, we are particularly delighted to be recommending it to you! This magical pantomime, featuring original music, will transport you through Arabian nights, enchanted caves, magic lamps and genies…and you don’t have to leave Brighton!

A Winter’s Trail – Theatre Royal, Brighton

Presented by Herringbone Arts, winners of the national Family Arts Festival’s Best Family Event, this fantastic promenade performance takes place around our beautiful Theatre Royal. Created for adults and young children to share, this magical production celebrates the joy of winter and the special joy that Christmas time brings. (NB: this involves the use of stairs and there is a special performance on Sunday 6th Dec for anyone not wishing to move around the building.)

Cinderella – Pavilion Theatre, Worthing

If you are looking for the big budget, traditional family pantomime with the famous faces and flashing merchandise, then you will need to go a little further afield this year… to Worthing. The classic tale of Cinderella is brought to you in all its glory at the beautiful Pavilion Theatre, and features stars from Strictly Come Dancing, Dancing On Ice and boyband A1. This promises to have all the sparkle, magic, fun and laughter that Cinderella deserves!

The Panto Game – The Dome Studio Theatre, Brighton

From Andrew Barnett Jones, the man who creates stories for such TV shows as Dick’n’Dom’s Diddy Movies, Dennis the Menace and Shaun the Sheep, comes a brand new one man pantomime. However, he has no idea what the pantomime will be so he will be needing your help! A completely improvised, fun filled festive show for anyone of any age to enjoy!

It’s A Wonderful Life – Brighton Little Theatre, Brighton

Personally, my very favourite Christmas film, this stage adaptation by Antony E. Palermo comes to you from the fantastic people at Brighton Little Theatre. The story of George Bailey, who wishes one Christmas that he had never been born, is a joyful and heart warming tale set in 1920s to 1940s America, and will absolutely guarantee to get you in the festive spirit!

Hansel & Gretel – Rialto Theatre, Brighton

This is Lantern Light’s quirky re-telling of the classic fairy tale from the Brothers Grimm. Retaining all the elements of the original story, bur adding a new wit and character, the ultimate message is to hold dear the values we cherish at Christmas time: not being selfish, loving our family and learning we don’t always get what we want!

A Christmas Carol – The Dome Studio Theatre, Brighton

Box Clever present a fun and unique spin on this Dickens classic! Using only a cast of three, Box Clever bring this story to life through the use of puppets and music in a true contemporary take on this traditional tale. Inspirational for young people and adults alike, this is an enchanting and delightful production.

Jack and the Beanstalk – The Ropetackle Centre, Shoreham

Our first version of this classic Christmas pantomime, Jack and the Beanstalk is presented by the team that brought you the hit sell-out pantomimes Sleeping Beauty and Aladdin. With all the features of the traditional tale, this production also features magic, puppets, a fantastic cast led by panto star Tom Beard and, of course, Daisy the Cow! Fun for all the family!

Pitschi, The Kitten with Dreams – Komedia, Brighton

Theatre Fidera Fideri presents Pitschi, the tale of a little Swiss kitten who lives on a farm in the Swiss Alps. She dreams of being any other animal in the world and sets off on an adventure to meet the other animals on the farm. With winter setting in, will she make it home before the first snow comes?! Featuring puppets, animation and the fantastic Natasha Granger, this is a Christmas treat for children and adults to enjoy in equal measure.

Jack and the Beanstalk– The Windmill Theatre, Brighton

Our second Jack and the Beanstalk, brought to you by our friends at Music Theatre 2000 and Showtime Productions, is a traditional pantomime, filled with fun and magic for all the family. Featuring Apollo favourite Grace Riach as Flunkit, and several children from Drama Queens Musical Theatre School who are also in Apollo Productions, we are delighted to highly recommend this wonderful panto full of boos, cheers, songs and laughter!
