The festive season is now upon us; a time of fun, joy and merriment for most… but for those with young children, this time of year is likely to bring about feelings of dread, horror and all-round bah-humbugness from just simply hearing the words “School Holidays”
Thinking about how you will entertain the kids (whilst also maintaining your own sanity) during their two weeks off may be enough to send you into panic mode, but never fear! We’ve compiled a handy guide to some of the top Christmas holiday events for families Brighton you won’t want to miss if you are struggling for ideas on surviving the holidays this Christmas.
The aquatic creatures at the Sea Life aquarium along Marine Parade are also getting into the festive spirit, with a special “12 Days of Fishmas” season.
Children will have the chance to hear what the fish will be eating for their Christmas dinner, spot the underwater Christmas decorations and even have the opportunity to feed the sea turtles some Brussel sprouts.

Aladdin at the Emporium is guaranteed to mesmerize both kids and adults with the incredible costumes and tunes. Relive the classic tale of Scrooge in A Christmas Carol (who many parents may be able to relate to after a few days at home with the kids), family favourites like The Ugly Duckling, and the unique captivating puppet show Pitschi, The Kitten with Dreams.
Most of these shows run even after Christmas too, in the dark space between Christmas and the first day back at school, so you are sure to find ways to keep them entertained right up until the end.

Well look no further than this Disney-themed holiday club, aimed at ages 4-10. Running for two days, B Starz will have children singing and dancing along to all the classics, making crafts, and even meeting their favourite characters in person. The Theatre Royal has been transformed into a beautiful winter wonderland to become the setting for this captivating children’s puppet show, in which kids and their parents join the magical Fairy Detective Agency on their quest to find the missing Theatre Elf.
Prepare to be led on a journey through many of the venue’s “secret spaces”, following footprints and exploring alongside a beautiful festive landscape, guaranteed to excite and enchant children. Aimed at 3-7 year olds.

A fun-filled pop-up, Tremendous Tipi is sure to entertain not only the young ones, but the entire family. The perfect venue for a family or friends get-together; a stunning Christmas setting awaits inside beautiful (and fully heated!) tipis where you can enjoy a Christmas roast and listen to a live band singing all the classics.
Kids are sure to be entertained by the festive photobooth, pop-up chocolate shop and a visit to Santa’s grotto. And for you adults, there’s a bar selling winter Pimms and mulled wine. What else could you require from a Christmas event?
