The days are getting longer but the cold is still biting and staying indoors is sadly still on the menu. With these free and cheap events across Brighton this month, you needn’t worry about going out to an expensive event or pesky cover and door charges! There’s an exhibition by a renowed tattooist, Star Wars models, Paddy’s Day Street Celebrations, International Women’s Day, free film screenings and even a Jenga Championship!

Corridor Gallery will celebrate the arrival of the immensely talented Alex Binnie, a sought-after Brighton Artist/Institution and renowned Tattoo Artist with a curious exhibition of all things anatomical. “Flayed!” is a selection of new works including lino and woodcut prints produced with the skill, expertise and unique aesthetic Alex is well known and loved for.

Star Wars: Small Toy Display – Hove Museum

The secret Pavilion tunnel tours might be sold out but over at Hove Museum you can catch rare Star Wars items loaned from private collections. These will include very early figures and ‘dioramas’ from the first series of Star Wars movies, such as a Land of the Jawas set, released by toy company Kenner in the 1970s.

Brighton Oxjam Photo Exhibition and Party – The Verdict Cafe and Bar

A chance to find out more about Oxjam and celebrate the success of last years festival. Oxjam Photo exhibition in collaboration with Silver Lens 2, screening of Bmusic Tv band interviews from the Takeover. With a diverse line-up of live music from Rocking Horse, Club Night House, 2015 Battle of the Band winners and more.

A monthly night of short indie films with drinks and food deals. For the March edition the club is looking into what people call faith and the effect religion has on people in positive and negative ways and mixed together with some more humorous shorts. This event fills up fast so come early to get a seat.

International Women’s Day Celebrations Dome – Brighton Dome

Frank, funny and fearless, Brighton Dome and Brighton Women’s Centre present their annual celebration of International Women’s Day, taking place in every nook and cranny of the cafe-bar, Founders Room and Corn Exchange.Enjoy stalls, talks, tasters and specially commissioned work reflecting on the issues raised throughout the day including Miss Represented, who will be exploring identity through self-portraits and enamel jewellery-making workshops. The Real Junk Food Project will be providing lunch on a pay-as-you-feel basis.

Fairytale Fair Patcham Methodist Church

Dated three weeks before Easter and the day before Mother’s Day, it’s the perfect opportunity to buy unique gifts and get craft-y this March. Don’t forget to stop for tea and cake in the vintage tearoom, bring the fairy tales to life with painted faces and much more. Over 35 craft and vintage stalls selling handmade or hand designed gifts.

Kicking off St Patrick’s Day proceedings with their infamous street party from lunchtime until 3am, The Fiddler’s Elbow and the road that surrounds will become an ocean of emerald. From sumptuous Irish stews and face painting to Guinness by the gallon and live Irish music to boot.

Jenga World Championship – Junkyard Dogs

It’s one day of Jenga and knockout rounds. The person who keeps their head above the mounting pile of blocks will be crowned jenga world champion 2016! Arrive by 3pm to register. This is just going to be serious tongue in cheek fun with a very serious trophy for the champion.
