There’s so much happening this Halloween in Brighton with spook fests, haunted gardens, live music, club nights, film themed freak outs, ghost walks, Day of the Dead celebrations and burlesque. Here’s our comprehensive guide to scaring the bejeesus out of yourself and your loved ones whilst having a great time!

Voted the number one family Halloween event in the UK, Tulleys Pumpkin Patch and Spook Fest 2014 is jam packed with mini frights for the little spirits. Set in the heart of the stunning Sussex countryside, this year’s Pumpkin Patch and Spook Fest is bursting with pumpkins, spooky excitement, haunted houses, fun shows and the infamous Horrid Hayride.

An interactive and immersive Haunted Adventure with six main Haunted attractions, which include the infamous Haunted Hayride, four very unique haunted house experiences and the haunted field. The Scream Park also incorporates three Food Courts, Scare Zones, Street Theatre and a LIVE Show Stage.

outbreakOUTBREAK Brighton – South Downs National Park

A fully immersive, physical, horror experience. Think ‘Secret cinema’, meets ’28 Days Later’, crossed with Tough Mudder all in one place. Participants are picked up by military escort from a secret location in central Brighton and taken deep into the South Downs where there are put to their paces. It is as much an assault on the mind as it is the body and not for the faint hearted. Over 18’s only.

Haunted Halloween Fun – Bordehill

Bordehill Garden was created in the early 1900’s with plants gathered by the great plant collectors from their travels to the Himalayas, China, Burma, Tasmania and the Andes – a legacy which today’s visitors continue to experience and enjoy. This Halloween meet Witches, wizards, owls and bats on the spooky Halloween trail around the garden, plus fun activities and games in the haunted marquee. Don’t forget the adventure playground too.

 Drusillas Park Shriek Week – Drusillas Park

Stake out the fun at Drusillas this Halloween! Oodles of eerie Halloween events and seasonal surprises to keep your little horrors half term happy. Venture through the creepy cobwebbed corridors of Haunted Heights into the terror-tory of sin sisters, Hocus & Pocus as they play hide and shriek with the unsuspecting public! Thrill seekers are invited to knock on the trap door and discover the spook-tacular surprise within. Fang-tastically frightening tattoos and face painting is available.

DrawgasmArt Schism’s Halloween Drawgasm – Art Schism

Expect ghoulish surprises and nerve-jangling creations in a special Halloween themed Dragasm. Drawgasm aims to help liberate the imaginative centre inside us all, and formulate a fantasical world where all our visions can become incarnate – and maybe even Undead! Also don’t miss the work donated by special guest Ian Miller, known for his Lovecraft novel covers and illustrations for the Tolkein Beastury.

Frighten Brighton and Emporium presents Emporiumacabre II – Emporium

A day celebrating thrills, chills and all things seasonably fiendish! Don’t miss the Macabre Market for all your scary supplies, spooky screenings suitable for all ages, costume characters, special goulish guests with signings and chilling chat plus plenty of extra floorboard-creaking extra surprises. Followed by a free screening of Theatre of Blood, the grisly 1973 classic about an overlooked actor who exacts his gruesome revenges on a number of theatre critics.

MAMA’s group of 13 artists aim to expand the excitement and theatrical illusion of today’s ghost train, by creating a one off exhibition that can be viewed on the tram as it travels through the ride. Including both students of Brighton University and Graduates based in the city, the artists work in a variety of media; including sculpture, painting, audio and visual arts, working together to create an all encompassing, unique experience.

Halloween and Dia De Los Muertos  – Sidewinder

Join Sidewinder for the biggest Halloween party in Kemptown. Live music from Son Pikkante, a tarot reader, face painting, and of course a costume contest! The party will continue till 2am with a DJ spinning tunes. Round two gets underway November 1st with Dia De Los Muertos (Day of the Dead). Live music from Neon Saints, burlesque, magic performances, the world-famous-in-Brighton Nacho hat and again partying with a DJ until 2am.

‘Adults Only’ Ghost Walk –  Starts at Brighton Town Hall

“There are hundreds of spirits who haunt the many parks, buildings and streets of Brighton,” said Edward White, a Ghostseeker who leads a new ‘Adults only’ guided tour through the city’s mysterious, unusual and supernatural history. Those who take the tour will see haunted sites and experience ghostly stories and mysteries from the 10th Century to the modern day.

The 411 is Brighton’s first and only dedicated weekly Bashment/Dancehall, Old Skool, hip hop and garage night each and every Wednesday at Audio. The official launch is happening on Halloween so to help with perennial questions on what to wear the 411 will be handing out discounted entry to anyone following their advice on theme.. PIMPS n HOE’S! They will be giving away free entry for life for best dressed girl and guy.

Join Komedia and Trailer Trash! for this American Horror Story themed club event.  All the best scenes spliced up with djs, dancing and twisted neo-cabaret, aerial, acrobats, fire and dance live acts all based around the cult TV series. Halloween Brighton 2014 The Halloween Horror Show – Hilton Brighton Metropole

Enjoy a sumptuous Halloween feast followed by a spectacular live floor show with a live band and dancing until the early hours. The event will be hosted by actor and television presenter Christopher Biggins. There will be Halloween themed games as well as auctions and a raffle offering exclusive and ‘money can’t buy’ prizes. The Ball will be raising funds for The Sussex Beacon – a charity offering specialist care and support to men, women and families affected by HIV.

Brighton Halloween 2014Beach of the Dead Fundraiser Screening ‘Shaun of the Dead’ Duke’s at Komedia

Beach of the Dead, the inaugural zombie hoarde/walk has been greatly missed after a 2 year hiatus but never fear (or do!) as it’s returning from the dead for 2015! Dress to distress and shuffle along to Duke’s at Komedia for an intimate screening of the zombie classic ‘Shaun of the Dead’ to raise funds for this great events resurrection.
