Hallelujah, the sun is finally shining! There’s lots of ways to celebrate the turn of spring this weekend with a street party, feel good club night, anthemic gig, book event for kids, a beer festival and even ever lasting life. This weekend looks set to be another corker, here’s our round-up of some of the best of the best. Praise be.


Weekend Brighton 19th - 20th March 2016St. Patricks Day Street Party 2016

Kicking off St Patrick’s Day proceedings with their infamous street party from St. Patricks day right up until Sunday 20th, The Fiddler’s Elbow and the road that surrounds will become an ocean of emerald. From sumptuous Irish stews and face painting to Guinness by the gallon and live Irish music to boot.

The New Immortals

Last Chance. to catch this successful exhibition, The New Immortals explores our ongoing quest for immortality and offers ten artists’ responses to this new paradigm. On Saturday there’s an informal tours of the exhibition with artist and curator Judith Alder throughout the day.

Space Dog Adventures with Award Winning Mini Grey

A perfect event for young families – award winning author/illustrator Mini Grey returns to The Book Nook with her latest book Space Dog. Listen to her award winning stories including Traction Man and Space Dog, help with illustrations and discover Space Dog’s adventures.

26th Sussex Beer & Cider Festival

Over 160 beers from across the UK, including new beer launches from Sussex breweries plus a large selection of ciders and perries. There will also be an excellent selection of British and foreign bottled beers to drink at the venue or take away. See website for more detailed information,prices and timings of each session.

Weekend Brighton 19th - 20th March 2016Horse Meat Disco

After last year’s sweaty disco uproar, Horse Meat Disco return for the first of four residency dates at Patterns throughout 2016. The Horse Meat Disco boys certainly know how to throw a party, so expect a riotous night of wall-to-wall disco nuggets for a guaranteed feel-good night.

Field Music

Their new album ‘Commontime’ is outstanding, a funkier beast than previous outings that should surely see them playing to audiences bigger than The Haunt. Their latest single even gained a ‘thumbs up’ from Prince. In reality we suspect it won’t sell out. Prove us wrong.
