MISS POLE DANCE UK 2011
Pole Passion is launching the search for a brand new super star to take the sparkling crown of Miss Pole Dance UK 2011. The search is on for a new national champion and this year Pole Passion will be bringing the hottest, most talented and acrobatic pole performers all in one place with the champion going on to represent the UK at the world championships in Budapest in October. The show will be taking place in the beautiful beach town of Brighton on the 25th June at the stunning seafront venue Concorde 2.
Pole Passion, a Brighton based fitness and Pole Dance training provider, has been hosting the National Miss Pole Dance UK Championships for the last 6 years and this time the team at Pole Passion are planning a more intimate, glamorous and sexy event, incorporating local talent and businesses.
This year the theme is pure old fashioned showgirl glamour and the event will be kicking off at 1pm with volley ball on the beach. There will be beautiful ‘winged angels’ to welcome guests into the venue followed by packed itinerary starting with a pole dancers volley ball match, lingerie fashion show staged by Brighton boutique Ouh La La as well as burlesque performances and a routine on the pole by comedy theatre group Spy Monkeys.
The main championships will kick off at 7.30pm with performances from the singles and doubles category, showcasing Olympic style routines with the best in the UK battling it out for a place representing their country in the World Pole Sport and Fitness Championships in Budapest October 2011.
Pole Passion Managing Director Kay Penney is hoping this year’s event will be the best so far. She said “This year Miss Pole Dance UK is going to be super glamorous. I want it to be very show girl and artistic. Pole Passion has worked so hard to bring pole dancing into the main stream fitness industry and make it into an art form and an expression of dance. Our competitors are athletes of remarkable grace and strength and train extremely hard. They really are amazing to watch.”
“This year we also have decided to get some of our burlesque dancers to do performances for fun as we have recently received REP’s accreditation for our burlesque teacher training courses – the first in the world! We have even managed to squeeze in a special appearance by the Mr Pole Fitness UK Champion.”
During the afternoon there will also be pole fitness demonstrations on the portable R-Pole, Pimms on the beach, as well as professional photo shoots. Guests will also be invited to purchase their very own professional photos on the day – on or off the pole!
There will be lots of experts on hand offering training information and advice from pole Industry leaders, instructors and students as well as pole essentials and merchandise on sale.
New this year Pole Passion has also launched ‘fashion designer of the year award’ offering local designers the opportunity to sponsor a competitor to show case their pole costume design, merging designer and performer together, so look out for some gorgeous elaborate costumes on stage. There will also be some beautiful jewellery by local designer Electra on sale.
