Brighton’s landmark nightclub, Oceana is receiving a major £1million investment that will see it transform into an entirely new clubbing experience called PRYZM.

Radio 1 DJ, record producer and television presenter Zane Lowe will headline the VIP launch event on 9 May.

The new club will feature three distinctly styled dance arenas and VIP areas under one roof, bringing back glamour, style and opulence to the city’s nightclub scene.
A key change will be the introduction of an additional dance arena on the ground floor, which will become the Curve music room with a 600 capacity and open from Wednesday through to Saturday nights.  The main arena will become PRYZM’S key room featuring the latest lighting and sound systems, with the DJ area being relocated to the stage, creating a festival atmosphere.   And to top it off, Woo Woo will become MYU cocktail bar with booth seating and opulent décor.  Customer favourite, the Disco room will remain but brought up to PRYZM standards with a refresh.
PRYZM’s new general manager, David Joyce said: “Oceana Brighton is one of the UK’s most popular nightclubs, attracting up to 7,000 clubbers on a typical trading week. After almost eight successful years in the city it’s time to reward our loyal customers with an exciting, state of the art club that will literally have the wow factor, securing our title as the most prestigious venue in town.”
To celebrate the official opening, PRYZM Brighton will host a VIP launch night fronted by Zane Lowe. As part of the Grand Launch weekend, Charlie Sloth from BBC Radio 1 and 1Extra will also be in Curve on Saturday 10 May.
Commenting on Zane Lowe’s appearance,  David said: “PRYZM will be a fresh new concept in Brighton clubbing and we’re pleased to have such a high profile name on board for our VIP launch event. Zane has played in some of the best clubs in the world but PRYZM Brighton will deliver with its state of the art sound and laser system and its stylish interiors.”
Already employing 65 people, David will be recruiting up to 30 additional staff to deliver the high service standards of PRYZM that will feature: exclusive VIP areas with booth seating that can be reserved in advance, with personal table service and a premium product range.
The vacancies, both full and part-time, vary from bar staff to VIP hosts and from security personnel to promotional staff.
David said: “We are looking for fun loving, sociable people who want to come to work and listen to cutting edge music, meet new friends and get paid for the privilege!  What could be better than working in what will be Brighton’s sexiest nightclub?”
