Concorde 2
Mon 17th March

You wouldn’t have thought that just a mere few years ago California based singer songwriter Lissie once spent her time scooping up ice cream and flogging honey at local farmer’s markets. When her fiery and free-spirited temperament found her expelled from high school, she found herself studying at Colorado State University in Fort Collins, performing with bands touring through her end of town. A few years down the line and the singer emerged unrelenting, going on to make a staggering debut back in November 2009 with the release of her EP ‘Why You Runnin’.

After spending several months throughout 2013 back in her hometown of Rock Island, Illinois the golden-haired folk rock Queen returns to the UK with a headlining act at Brighton’s Concorde 2. Tendering a whole-hearted compilation of uninhibited country, rock and folk with a voice equally husky and harmonic despite making her sound endearingly desperate for a drink.

Upon being signed to Sony Music UK’s Columbia Records in 2010, her first album ‘Catching A Tiger’ was released later that summer after her first single release ‘In Sleep’ previously made Q Magazine’s ‘track of the day’ that same year. Having taken some time to revisit her hometown and put together a long waited third album, ‘Back To Forever’ was released in Autumn last year.

The singer is set to make her way down to the blustery streets of Brighton this March, however tickets are currently sold out. Hats off to those who already have their tickets booked! The lovely Lissie will no doubt have your hearts a flutter.
