Brunswick Festival 2011
Brunswick Festival – 20th & 21st August.
For those who dread trekking it halfway across the country with a pair of wellies, a tent you don’t know how to put up and ten bags of provisions for a festival you’ve paid over the odds for – only to stand desperately in the queue for a portaloo for the majority of the time – fear not. Brighton has its own little party hosted by residents for residents just like you. August means its time for the annual Brunswick Festival, now in its 30th successful year. The festival itself is run by the Brunswick Festival Group made up of local volunteers and residents and has evolved from a local picnic in the square to what it is today. If you wonder on down you will be delighted with a weekend offering local music, dance, circus skills, healing areas, arts and craft stalls, food and bric-a-brac (and of course, a beer tent) to name but a few. It has been described before as a cross between your local fete and a mini-festival. The festival takes place from 12pm till 7pm on both Saturday and Sunday making it a perfect family day out.
