Scared? You will be. Probably. Get ready for the spookiest night of the year as Brighton revs into a nightmarish Halloween mode. From Beetlejuice to a vampire tea party, raving zombies to a ‘Poltergayst’, yes you read correctly, check out our guide to Halloween Brighton 2016 and choose the right haunt for you this Halloween.

Returning for its 2nd year, and located at Brighton Racecourse, Fright Festival is back – and with a brand new look! A freaky eclectic combination of halloween attractions alongside sounds from the biggest DJ’s and Artists including Chase n Status and Lethal Bizzle – prepare to be amazed!

Halloween Brighton 2016The Phanton of Stanmer House @ Stanmer House

Visitors will be fully immersed in the world of the Phantom on an experiential journey through three haunting rooms. Both stage and screen will come to life with choreographed waltz routines and awe inspiring songs by leading West End performers. Guests will be captivated by a jazz duo and musical theatre classics in the show’s chilling climactic scene in which the Phantom is revealed.

I’m sure you’d agree, from that picture, it’s likely to be a terrifying night. There’s unlimited rides all night long, exclusive entry to Horror Bar with Guest DJs and Free Halloween punch, trick or treats, live action horror and scares. The pièce de résistance is the ‘walk along the ocean’ and ‘1,700 feet of fear’. This is one not to miss.

On October 29th Coalition celebrates Halloween with a massive Haunted House Party! Set under Kings Road Arches Coalition will be transformed into the spookiest venue in town. Dancing ghosts of the past are sure to flock! We’re talking Dracula spooking up Rm2 and getting in on the cocktail action.

The Mesmerist’s 5th annual celebration of the Mexican festival, Day of the Dead. Last year’s party was definitely a night to remember. Sugar skulls are used to honour the dead – so get involved, come dressed-up and get those faces painted!

All kinds of crazy Mesmerist tricks happening on the night: DJs downstairs spinning original vinyl records, 50s / 60s hip swivelers; Upstairs is being taken over by Brighton Rockabilly Rumble Club; and live music from The Black Kat Boppers – Hot Boppin, Groovin’ 4 piece playing rockin’ roots music; Professional make-up artists from the DFMA and of course the infamouse midnight show…

Halloween Brighton 2016Poltergayst – A Queer Halloween Extravaganza @ Marlborough Pub & Theatre

Head to one of Brighton’s most haunted pubs (It’s official – check out the wiki) for a night of spooktacular performances, a GAY-ENACE and tunes that bump in the night. The GAY-EANCE will happen in the early hours of the morning to help some of the many queer spirits trapped in the Marly move peacefully to the other side… Oh and it’s totally FREE if you can only face your fears!

There’s horror-themed cabaret from Twisted Nymph, classic horror film clips (all pre-1989, of course) on the TVs, a free face-painting stall, and an optional late screening of Tim Burton’s brilliant Beetlejuice in the cinema upstairs…

DJs loosen up the music policy to have some Halloween fun, so you WILL hear the Monster Mash, Thriller, Ghostbusters and The Time Warp too.

Join an extra – spooky tour of the city. A fresh batch of grisly murders, ghosts and ghastly goings on. During the tour you will hear about the first Brighton Trunk Murder; how John Holloway chopped his wife into pieces and buried her in “Lovers Lane”; the Deadly Dr Warder, who poisoned his wife on prescription and more ghouslish tales.
