Modelo Lounge Opening in HOVE

Opening Times: Modelo Lounge will be open everyday from 9am to 11pm with food served until 10pm.

Brighton, we all know is the town where local restaurants, bars and clubs flourish and change from one day to another. We’ve been invited with pleasure last Thursday (26th) to the Modelo Lounge opening in Hove on Church Road a stone’s throw from George Street.

Lounge literally means hall or living room, and is the name given to a type of music, which was entered as a background in hotel lobbies, in the most refined venues and in social occasions.

It also has other meanings, including “enjoy the relax”, “wandering”; these meanings relate to the lifestyle of those people who attend a certain type of venue, where the aesthetic and the staff were studied in order to put customers at ease and make them relax.

Well, let’s now get into more details of the opening.

We arrived early so we had a chance to look at things properly, and I have to say that the decor is really warm, a quirky mixture of genres with lots of eclectic mirrors. The whole venue has been refurbished and brought up from a video shop to a fine standard restaurant-bar, a careful attention to the detail and a book exchange with a good selection of books.

Modelo Lounge caters for all ages and tastes throughout the day. The flexibility of its all-day food and drink menu means that it can be the perfect spot for almost any mood or occasion, be it a coffee and a slice of cake, a business lunch or an intimate romantic dinner for two.

Eat, Drink and Athmosphere: Menu options range from teriyaki beef fillet salad to sweet potato, butternut squash and spinach curry to an old school banana split. The menu also offers a wide variety of tapas and gourmet burgers. For younger guests, the children’s menu presents classics including macaroni cheese, shepherd’s pie and sausage and root mash. All of this is served in a cosy, relaxed, and informal atmosphere.

We chose to sit in a recessed part of the Lounge but really cosy and with comfy sofas. From the open bar we got some lovely house white wine and at very soon we’d been served with various delicious tapas; guacamole, homous, chorizo and potatoes.

The staff all made us feel very welcome, and this is a place that deserves to go from strength to strength. They have just completed an intensive one-week training course which includes expert guidance from the world number one barista champion Ed Buston.

To mark the occasion, The Mayor of Brighton and Hove, Councillor Anne Meadows and local children from St Andrew’s Primary School joined Loungers’ executive team to officially open the new venue.

So give the Modelo Lounge a try, you will not be disappointed and you will look forward to your next visit.
Excellent service and competitive prices!
